The story of a photographer

Ciao! My name is Jacklyn Noiel and I'm what you call a bit of a photography enthusiast. Since I was a very young girl, I've always been drawn to pictures, be they in magazines, books, photo albums or even on the walls of local businesses. There's just something about the combination of colors, shapes, faces and light coming together in perfect harmony that I find irrevocably fascinating.

I've always believed that the best photos are those that are hard to look away from. The kind that catches your eye and makes you want to study every tiny pixel. And when you think you've seen it all, you have to look back just once more to make sure you didn't miss anything. Those are the kinds of photos I strive to take every single day at A Better Day with Jay. Photos that are engaging, compelling and worthy of displaying proudly in your home.

I got my first camera at the age of 18, a Yashica for a college elective. It wasn't a particularly expensive camera, but it was mine and I rarely parted with it. I took pictures of everything. The trees on campus, students hanging out at the dorm, and my little cousin in front of my grandma's house. Nothing was off limits. What I mostly loved photographing, though, was people. And that's still true today.

People are so interesting and I love capturing their spirit; my goal is to convey their feelings, thoughts and emotions and preserve them forever in a photograph.

You know what I'm talking about. That twinkle of deep affection in a father's eye when he looks over to his wife holding their first born. The calm serenity that overcomes an expecting woman as she gently touches her swollen belly. The heat between a newly engaged couple who can't seem to stop staring at each other. The commanding presence of a high school senior who's posing with enough confidence for their entire graduating class. Or that ounce of mischief in a brother's sly grin as he looks up at his older sister.

To me, portrait photography is all about capturing emotions, personalities and the dynamics of various relationships. And when I photograph you and your loved ones, that's always my goal.

Yes, I've owned many cameras since my first and I've certainly grown as a photographer. And though my cameras have changed and skills have grown, one fact remains a constant: my inherent fascination and appetite for portrait photography. Let me share my passion with you, won't you?

Yours,

Jay

Why book with Jay?

I know exactly what you're thinking: "Jay, there are hundreds of photographers in this city alone! What sets you apart from all the rest?"

That is an excellent question, and it's one you should ask yourself before any major investment. While I'm not going to go on and on about my amazing personality (I'm pretty dope, though) and impeccable photography skills (my portfolio speaks for itself!), I will tell you that our session will definitely be a vibe.

You see, choosing the right photographer is not only about having an incredible product at the end of the day (in this case, photographs), it's about having a positive overall experience. I actually like to think of myself as vibe curator if you will.

I am a photographer because it's my passion. I also believe that having your photographs taken doesn't just begin with the click of a shutter button and end with prints. The overarching experience is just as important. If you're having fun, I'm having fun. And everyone who sees those pictures? It'll be super obvious we had an incredible time together. Those are the kinds of pictures you want to hang on the wall. And those are the kinds of experiences that have earned me loyal customers for a long time.
